Description
We worked with several photographers within the analogue film community to design our Nomad and Nomad Slim straps. An option was needed for accommodate for smaller cameras such as Leica M series, Fuji X100 and so on. This strap is 10mm wide as opposed to the 15mm width of the Regular Nomad strap, this allows the Nomad Slim to keep well out of your way during use. It also offers shorter lengths for photographers wanting it to sit higher up the chest.
The design goal driving the development of the Nomad was simple – to make a camera strap that was comfortable and strong, whilst being as light and unobtrusive as possible, the Nomad Slim is no different in this respect. If you want a camera strap that is comfortable and will hold your camera securely but that won’t get in your way, the Nomad Slim fits this criteria perfectly. The stitched version of the Nomad Slim takes this one step further. Instead of being held together with traditional copper saddler’s rivets like many of our other straps, each one is carefully hand stitched with a centuries-old technique using incredibly tough woven nylon thread.
This has three distinct advantages: it’s incredibly durable and strong, it slides through your fingers easily and comfortably and finally it is less likely to mark your camera than a copper rivet.
Each strap can be provided with ‘separate’ circular protectors that fit over the circular camera strap stud on your camera body.
This strap is completely hand-crafted by the same experienced leatherworker, using high quality Horween leather from the USA. The reason? It’s so much softer then most English leathers, making it perfect for a stylish, yet comfortable and durable camera strap. It features beautiful ‘pull-up’ giving a lovely patina after even a little use. All of the leathers we use are also ‘hot stuffed’, which is a process that involves nourishing and conditioning the leather with unrefined oils and greases achieving a richer feel and a lower susceptibility to water damage. So no need to be overly precious about taking it out in the rain.
The fittings and split rings used on our camera straps are solid brass, instead of the commonly-used cheaper alternatives. This is to ensure that our camera straps last you as long as possible.
